The shocked gas of the BHR71 outflow observed by Herschel: indirect evidence for an atomic jet

چکیده

Context. In the BHR71 region, two low-mass protostars IRS1 and IRS2 drive two distinguishable outflows. They constitute an ideal laboratory to investigate both the effects of shock chemistry and the mechanisms that led to their formation. Aims. We aim to define the global morphology of the warm gas component of the BHR 71 outflow and at modelling its shocked

Jet-driven outflows of ionized gas in the nearby radio galaxy 3C 293

Fast outflows of gas, driven by the interaction between the radio jets and interstellar medium (ISM) of the host galaxy, are being observed in an increasing number of galaxies. One such example is the nearby radio galaxy 3C 293. In this paper we present integral field unit observations taken with OASIS on the William Herschel Telescope, enabling us to map the spatial extent of the ionized gas o...

Se p 20 06 Anatomy of HH 111 from CO observations : a bow shock driven molecular outflow

We present single-dish and interferometric millimeter line observations of the HH 111 outflow and its driving source. The physical conditions of the protostellar core have been determined from the emission of the millimeter line emission of CO and its isotopomers and CS with the IRAM 30m telescope, and the CO J = 7 → 6 line with the Caltech Submm Observatory. The molecular gas emission reveals ...

Anatomy of Hh 111 from Co Observations: a Bow-shock-driven Molecular Outflow

We present single-dish and interferometric millimeter line observations of the HH 111 outflow and its driving source. The physical conditions of the core have been determined from the emission of the millimeter line of CO and its isotopomers and CS with the IRAM 30 m telescope, and the CO J 1⁄4 7 ! 6 line with the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory. The emission reveals a small condensation of c...

Multi-dimensional numerical simulations of molecular jets

Molecular jets announce the successful birth of a protostar. We develop here a model for the jets and their environments, adapting a multi-dimensional hydrocode to follow themolecular-atomic transitions of hydrogen. We examine powerful outflows into dense gas. The cocoon which forms around a jet is a very low density cavity of atomic gas. These atoms originate from strong shocks which dissociate...

Submillimeter CO emission from shock-heated gas in the L1157 outflow

We present the CO J=6–5, 4–3, and 3–2 spectra from the blueshifted gas of the outflow driven by the low-mass class 0 protostar in the L1157 dark cloud. Strong submillimeter CO emission lines with Tmb > 30 K have been detected at 63 (∼0.13 pc) south from the protostar. It is remarkable that the blue wings in the submillimeter lines are stronger by a factor of 3–4 than that of the CO J=1–0 emissi...
